ABET

ABET is the recognized U.S. accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. Accreditation ensures the quality of the postsecondary education students receive. ABET was established in 1932 and is now a federation of 28 professional and technical societies representing the fields of applied science, computing, engineering, and technology.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is comprised of the commissioner of education and agency staff. The TEA and the State Board of Education (SBOE) guide and monitor activities and programs related to public education in Texas. The SBOE consists of 15 elected members representing different regions of the state. One member is appointed chair by the governor

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is dedicated to helping Texas meet the goals of the state's higher education plan, Closing the Gaps by 2015. It provides numerous grants for students and institutions to achieve the educational goals for the state of Texas.

The mission of the southern association of colleges and schools is the improvement of education in the south through accreditation. It is the major accrediting institution in the southern U.S. for colleges and schools.
