K. Lance Anderson is currently Associate General Counsel and Intellectual Property Manager for Emergent Technologies, Inc. (ETI) based in Austin, Texas. ETI is a unique life sciences venture capital firm that forms and manages companies and funds that license and commercialize groundbreaking institutional and university-based technologies. ETI specializes in converting new discoveries into high return ventures, creating new technologies for biotech industry leaders and new opportunities for regional economies. Mr. Anderson supports the legal and patent management efforts for ETI and its portfolio companies. Mr. Anderson is a registered patent attorney and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Prior to joining ETI in July 2006, Mr. Anderson served as the Managing Director for Texas Tech University's Office of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property. His roles at Texas Tech included managing all aspects of patenting and licensing of innovations developed by faculty researchers. He received all his degrees at Texas Tech University – J.D., B.S. in Entomology, and M.S. in Crop Sciences.
